Buddhist Monk Self Immolation - Fire - Call Me Anadarko
Buddhist Monk Self Immolation - Fire - Call Me Anadarko
www.thisfigtree.wordpress.com I apologize for the terrible recording and lack of video content. I did this as a high school project some years ago, yet still fully believe in the power of the Buddhist Monks stories. As you may notice, youtube has removed my original video twice due to some peoples complaints about the grotesque nature of it. It's a shame that we censor reality. Please continue to educate yourselves about the world around you, and I will join you in that. Blessings. Fire Someone yells fire They scream of a fire Closed Eyes Calm mind The peaceful resistance We know Brings more than just burned flesh And smoke Fire Fire You turn heads without screaming Hurt You won't be forgotten Today Not tomorrow Tomorrow the papers will Note of a tragedy But who will honor That sacrafice Fire Someone yells fire They scream of a fire How we Got here Is less of a Mystery More a mirror The pages and headlines Reflect Our fire Fire Destruction of future Deception of smoke clouds And ash Blind tomorrow Whether or not the images of innocent humans lighting themselves on fire was impacting to the US in 1966, it had a direct impact on me. Throughout history and religion self-sacrifice is a powerful gift or form of resistance. I think that the Buddhists gave a gift in showing their resistance. Due to these images I was inspired to write a song surrounding the idea of self-immolation, and its connection to the Vietnam War. Whether or not you agree with their actions, it is ...

DaAi Headlines 20100928 Spreading the Dharma abroad
The Philippines is a largely Roman Catholic country, and Buddhist believers make up only about 3 percent of its population. For 16 years, Tzu Chi's people have been tirelessly promoting its work amongst Filipino communities, but gaining their approval has not been easy. Yet last year's Typhoon Ketsana has become something of a milestone for Tzu Chi-Philippines: since initiating its relief programs, 9 volunteer training sessions have been held, with more than 3000 enrollments. Many local Filipinos have answered Tzu Chi's call, learned its disciplines, and joined in its mission as full participants. ( A spiritual architecture ) Building after magnificent building, creates a stirring visual rhythm that can halt a person in their track. In the Philippines, over 80 percent of the population is Roman Catholic. On Sundays, it is expected that everyone will attend mass. ( Not an alternative -- an addition ) Now, though, there is another place people may choose to go. Marikina volunteer, Victorino Bong Morandarte:" If Tzu Chi has an event, I will ask for the day off, and my boss always approves.Because Tzu Chi helped us a lot, and I'm just giving back for the help we received in Typhoon Ketsana's aftermath." Victorino has undergone volunteer training and now is a fully-fledged Tzu Chi volunteer, because in Tzu Chi, he has found spiritual comfort, God, and the Great Love. A Look-Back: Beastie Boy Rapper Adam Yauch Criticizes 1998 Bombings in Middle East, Africa
DemocracyNow.org - The pioneering hip-hop artist Adam Yauch died Friday of cancer at the age of 47. Known by his nickname "MCA," he was one-third of the legendary Beastie Boys. He was a practicing Buddhist and helped organize the Tibetan Freedom Concert. In 1998, he made headlines when at the Video Music Awards he publicly criticized the climate of racism toward Muslims and Arabs, and the Clinton administration's bombings of Sudan and Afghanistan. [Correction: It was incorrectly noted in our headline today that Yauch was speaking out against bombings in Iraq. It was rather bombings in Afghanistan and Sudan.] Towatch the complete daily, independent news hour, read the transcript, download the podcast, and for more information, visit www.democracynow.org FOLLOW DEMOCRACY NOW! China Tibet Riots Dead Girl's Final Text Message To Father
China Tibet Riots Dead Girl's Final Text Message To Father
The other side of the story suffers from the oppression by the western media powerhouses such as AP, BBC, CNN, ETC. CCTV somehow shine brightest in these recent headlines, primarily because these western media powerhouses that supposedly stand the pillar of democracy and truth, look really stupid when comparison is made between like scenes and situations, but with contrasting narrations that effectively insult their audiences intelligence and ability to reason; ineffectively trying to dumb-down open-minded Americans and world-audiences in general; it is this reason why this latest "Crackdown on Tibetans by China" has suddenly turned, like the barrel of a loaded gun, into a "Crackdown on Western Hypocrisy". All this talk about actions and comments against China and the boycotting of the upcoming Olympics to "anger China" has become a self-denigrating internal rage that now humiliates all those banging their drums, and many of them barking their covert prejudices, behind their now tenuously tied banner of the Free Tibet bandwagon. The London Olympics can face politicization as well. It'd be no stretch of the imagination to find British-laid feces to smear the 2012 Olympics Games with. For starters; how about the Balfour Declaration that had led to a series of tragic events culminating into the UN Partition Plan that has developed into a nasty brew of inter-religious and cultural strife that have ravaged the Middle-East, and so terribly compromised our fine American way of ...

Commies in China continue to assault Tibetans
Commies in China continue to assault Tibetans
As long as commies continue to behave like rootless murdering thugs I will continue to post videos exposing their crimes. Of course that and this will continue as long as there is at least one country dominated by Communist, because the nature of communism is rooted in murdering gangster behavior. Continually over the past month numerous news articles reporting Buddhist monks and nuns in Tibet setting themselves on fire, self-immolation. The commies in China over fifty years ago rolled into Tibet to crush the Tibetan spirit, culture, religion, and language. The commies have been a miserable failure at this even with their numerous acts of murder and wrongful imprisonment. The Buddhist and people of Tibet remain strong and refuse to allow gangster monsters crush their heritage. Recent headlines concerning Tibet appearing in The Dallas Morning News: "3 Tibetan monks set selves afire in protest"- 10 January 2012 "Protests spread to 2nd town in Tibet" - 25 January 2012 "Police fire on Tibetan protesters, killing 1" - 28 January 2012 "3 set selves on fire in protest against China" - 05 February 2012 "3 Tibetan protesters set themselves ablaze" - 06 February 2012 Recently The Middle Kingdom, Commie-led China, in Tibet, the town of Zu To Bharma Shang (Barma Township in Dzamtang County), a young Tibetan named Tharpa posted flyers around town reading, "You, Communist Chinese, come and arrest me," and he signed his name. DaAiTV_20110809_Water Repentance makes a splash
1. Water Repentance makes a splash With seemingly unending natural and man-made disasters around the world, Master Cheng Yen called on her followers to study the Buddhist sutra "Water Repentance". She said the only way to put the world back on track was to repent of our mistakes, and cleanse human hearts. The Buddhist text was arranged into a musical production, for thousands of volunteers to perform in public shows around Taiwan. In our first story today, we find out what makes Water Repentance so special. 2. Major spiritual construction project The Water Repentance show is being called Taiwan"s biggest ever spiritual construction project. In the next story, we find out what had inspired the musical production. 3. The story of Master Wuda The Water Repentance musical production is based on a Buddhist story about National Master Wuda, from China"s Tang Dynasty, which is a tale that stresses the truth about karma, repentance, and the laws of cause and effect. Let"s take a look.

Japan's Monju nuclear accident parts 1-3 A Coverup Revealed By Wikileaks Pre Fukushima
Japan's Monju nuclear accident parts 1-3 A Coverup Revealed By Wikileaks Pre Fukushima
Named after the Buddhist divinity of wisdom, Monju, located in Japan's Fukui prefecture, is Japan's only fast-breeder reactor. Unlike conventional reactors, fast-breeder reactors, which "breed" plutonium, use sodium rather than water as a coolant. This type of coolant creates a potentially hazardous situation as sodium is highly corrosive and reacts violently with both water and air. On December 8th, 1995, 700 kg of molten sodium leaked from the secondary cooling circuit of the Monju reactor, resulting in a fire that made headlines across the country. Although the accident itself did not result in a radiation leak, many argue that the fire came close to breaching Monju, a catastrophe which would have spilled plutonium into the environment. Following the fire, officials at the government-owned Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation (PNC), operators of Monju, first played down the extent of damage at the reactor and denied the existence of a videotape showing the sodium spill. Later, they released still shots only, showing things like intact pipes and clean floors and claiming that there had only been "a minor leakage in the secondary sodium loop [that had] caused some fumes". While short videos were released, these were edited to hide the full extent of the damage. Further complicating the story, the deputy general manager of the general affairs department at the PNC, Shigeo Nishimura, 49, jumped to his death the day after a news conference where he and ...
